University of Lausanne Masters Grant for Foreign Students

The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master’s Grants to international students for Masters Degree at the University.

Candidates must choose a Master’s
programmes from among those offered by the UNIL, except the Master of Medicine, Master of Arts in Sciences and Practices of Education, Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne, Master of Law in Criminal Sciences, judiciary mention, and all the MAS (3rd cycle programmes).

The grant may not be used for any
complementary studies required to enroll on the Master’s degree and may not be used for EMBAs or Masters of Advanced studies.

The amount of the grant is CHF 1,600.- per month from 15 September to 15 July, for a duration not exceeding the regulation minimum period of the programme.

• The qualification held by the candidate must be deemed equivalent to the UNIL Bachelor’s degree.

The grants are intended more particularly for students who distinguished themselves in their university studies and who have
difficulty meeting their financial needs for the duration of the Master’s.

The Shell Petroleum Development
Company of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL /TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme offers first year students in all Nigerian universities the opportunity to study with an annual
grant from the SPDC JV for the full
duration of their course. The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerians.

Scholarship Type: Shell Scholarship for Nigerian University Students

Have a minimum of seven O/Levels credits, including Mathematics and English.
Be enrolled full‐time, in a university in Nigeria at the undergraduate level with a minimum grade point average of 3.5 at the time of application (attach
transcripts or official records).

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) are towards a doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD).

Field(s) of study:
Programmes in social sciences and/or
humanities, natural sciences and/or engineering and health.

Number of Scholarships:
Up to 167 scholarships are awarded annually

Target group:
Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada and foreign citizens are eligible to be nominated for a Vanier CGS.

Scholarship value/inclusions:
The scholarships is worth $50,000 per year for three years.

To be considered for a Vanier CGS, you must:
• be nominated by only one Canadian university, which must have received a Vanier CGS allocation;
• be pursuing your first doctoral degree (or combined MA/PhD or MD/PhD).

Note that only the PhD portion of a combined degree is eligible for funding;
• intend to pursue, in the summer semester or the academic year following the announcement of results, full-time doctoral (or combined MA/PhD or

• have completed no more than 20 months of doctoral studies as of May 1, 2016;

Candidates must be nominated by the university at which they want to study. Candidates cannot apply directly to the Vanier CGS program.

Applications are initiated in one of two ways. Either the student informs the faculty of graduate studies at the selected institution of their intent to apply to the
Vanier CGS program OR the institution initiates the nomination process by contacting the desired candidate.

Applications are prepared by the student and submitted to the nominating institution by their internal deadline using the ResearchNet application
system. The nominating institution then forwards recommended nominations to the Vanier-Banting Secretariat (the Secretariat) by 4 November 2015.

Humber College Scholarships 2016

Humber College offers full and partial renewable tuition scholarships for NEW international undergraduate students beginning classes in September 2015 or
January 2016.

University of Newcastle International PG Scholarships

The University of Newcastle offers a number of postgraduate research scholarships to support international research candidates. One of these is the University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UNIPRS) which is towards Master’s degree by Research or PhD degree.

The scholarships are limited in number and are dependent on the annual research scholarship budget allocated.


How to increase your chances of receiving a research scholarship:

• A Grade Point Average (GPA)of at least 5.25 out of 7 in the last two calendar years of undergraduate degree
